Nice but way over priced.
Have had these for a few weeks now wearing ok, but are not holding their shape.
Had hope that the quality Would be better when buying from Bean would be getting old fashion quality but like most thing in America we are seeing the slow death of quality. This will be my last shoe but from Beans.

Allagash bison was better
I bought these as you no longer carry the Allagash bison loafers that I have bought at least 3 pair of and would have ordered ahead it I had known they were being discontinued. The shoes are nice though I do not like the
muted tone but that is my problem as I should have known a color called Earth would not be shiny. They do run large compared to the same size bison shoe but wearable.

Hearty-looking Leather Soes
I like the shoes very much. They didn't require any break-in time before I wore them for several hours one day. The leather did look a little dry in places, particularly over the fold into the interior of the shoe. This concerned me. But I treated the whole shoe with a leather treatment I purchased from where I buy custom-made moccasins, and the shoes look fine. With this type of leather, I am sure I will need to treat them periodically. They are heavy shoes, which doesn't bother me. The "recommended" size was a full size too big.

They run large
I ordered my usual size, and they were too big. I exchanged them for a half size smaller, and still too big. I'm hoping the 3rd time is a charm. The card in the box says they need to fit snugly and will stretch to fit, so order smaller than you ordinarily would. The sure seem comfortable, but I can't comment on that until I get a chance to wear them.

Great shoes but they scuff
Allagash shoes were a Christmas gift. They replaced my well worn L L Bean penny loafer shoes. The Allagash are very comfortable to wear. The only negative issue being the soles will leave scuff marks on vinyl flooring.
