Defective pockets, under light office conditions
I purchased these trekking pants about three months ago for hiking, but initially wore them to the office to break them in. Unfortunately, the stitching around both of the thigh pocket zippers have already come apart. It appears the seam allowance in that area is very narrow, and even with minimal use, it hasn’t held up.
What’s disappointing is that the pants haven’t even made it onto the trail yet. They’ve only been worn for light office work — no heavy loads in the pockets, no constant snagging, and no rough handling of the zipper. Nothing.
To be fair, the rest of the seams are holding up well, and the pants are comfortable overall (though slightly long in the leg for me). This issue feels more like a manufacturing defect or a problem with a particular batch rather than general wear and tear.
However, I’m disappointed that a key stress point, under such light use, has failed so quickly, maybe worn 15 times at most.
I would appreciate a replacement, as this does not reflect the durability I expected from LL Bean gear.

WARNING!!! Plastic pieces in pant legs
I loved the pants but noticed on both pairs that I purchased there were plastic pieces that came from each pant leg - They are pieces that are small enough someone may not notice them as they fall to the floor. They pose a choking hazard to young children and animals. They also pose a slipping hazard to anyone who steps on them. Please warn your customers. I would have posted this notice sooner, but was unable to try on the pants due to my fractured leg.

Favorite pant
My favorite LL Bean pant. Great for everyday, hiking, travel, etc. Very lightweight, so it's excellent for hot weather. Would recommend. I have 4 pairs, different colors. Wish LL Bean would bring the lined version of these back in stock, would be great for wintertime in the North.

Why discontinued?
Great pants. Perfect fit. Why are they no longer available? I hate that they are being discontinued. I’ve tried other LLBean pants and they just don’t fit well. The stretch in these pants was perfect.
