Featuring the moccasin-like feel that L.L.'s original hunting shoes had in the woods, our legendary Maine-made boots have the comfort and protection you need - whether you're bird hunting on a muddy tote road or walking the dog on a slushy sidewalk.
- With light or midweight socks: Whole sizes, order one size down. Half sizes, order 1½ size down. Example: 9 or 9½, order a size 8. With heavyweight socks: Whole sizes, order your normal size. Half sizes, order one size down. Example: 9 or 9½, order a size 9.
The original Maine Hunting Shoe was Leon Leonwood Bean's first product, introduced in 1912. Over the years, we've made lots of improvements to these boots, but hunters have told us that they miss the moccasin-like feel that our original boots had in the woods. So we set out to bring it back.

Incredible boots
I just received my new "Maine Hunting Shoes," replacing the others I had for over 20 years. These boots are incredible, and I have other pairs of Bean Boots, too. I've never left an online review but owe it to this company and other people who get outside to leave this review. The boots I replaced were with me for years of bird hunting, fishing, canoe trips, yard work, dog walks, just plain kicking around, bars, city streets, and even to work. They are lightweight, sturdy, comfortable, and nearly indestructible - well, at least for 20+ years. If you are wondering whether to buy your first pair of these boots, the answer is absolutely. They are not cheap, but worth every penny. They will cost you less than a cup of coffee per month over the course of their life. L.L. Bean, don't ever stop making these boots - and keep making them in America.

Love the way they look
I have worn Bean Boots for many years, but these are my 1st Maine Hunting boot. They look great and fit perfectly. I wear a size 11 but bought a size 10. They fit perfectly.
