Very nice boots
These boots look good! With jeans. With cold weather lined clothing. They look good! The sole has sufficient traction for light snow. I’ve worn them with both mid weight and heavyweight hiking socks and they kept my feet and ankles warm when the temperature dipped into the mid teens. Just a little snug in the toe, but not pinch and blister snug. Did I mention how good these boots look?

Oversized
Very bulky and very oversized. I have a triple E size 12 foot. These are D size and yet they were oversized. Beautiful craftsmanship and I’m sure Great for construction work but not for every day use

way too big. sized down one size due to other reviews, but likely needed to size down two sizes. good looking boot and seemingly good quality, just way too big. returned and got some Danners.

Nice boots!
The Portland lace up boots have been great purchase. Right out of the box the fit and finish have been spot on. I had little to no break-in period which since I am on my feet all day long walking on concrete. I would definitely recommend these boots.

Beautiful, but...
This is a beautiful boot! But...it is massively oversized and uncomfortable. I wear a size 8 or 8.5 with all other brands. With L.L.Bean I know to size-down a full size, so I ordered a size 7. However, even the 7 is still too large. I can't go any smaller because a size 7 is the smallest they make. This boot is massively oversized. You need to size down 1.5 to 2 sizes compared to any other brand. Also, this boot is just not comfortable. While too large, it fit well enough to try on and realize that it's just not a comfortable boot. They are beautiful. Unfortunately, it stops there.

Nice boots…but
Getting more comfortable with a little break in time. However…these boots get scuffed and marred very easily. I constantly need to use the bean boot wax to keep them looking nice.

Beautiful craftsmanship with sturdy thick leather.My wife and daughters all said they’re the prettiest boots I have.I bought 1 whole size down from my tennis shoes and the boots fit perfectly.
