The softest long-lasting flannel in the widest range of authentic Scottish tartans.
For nearly 90 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

Great Flannel
I bought this shirt last month on sale. I was very happy when I received it. All of my L.L. Bean shirts have been very, very nice. I was very pleased. The colors are beautiful, the hand of the material is very nice to touch. Unfortunately, down here on the Gulf Coast. I won’t be able to wear it until November and then possibly not very much until January next.

Could be perfect, but one fatal flaw
You'd think a shirt of this quality would have a 2nd button above the cuff (like virtually every other button-downed shirt on earth). Nope, not there. I'm reminded of this every time I try to roll up the sleeves, just flops around...unless of course you like to roll up sleeves past your elbow.
