Our ultra-absorbent terry cloth robes are made of luxuriously soft cotton with a substantial feel.
We chose a new 11.2 oz fabric that's more substantial than our previous Terry Cloth Robe fabric to create a perfectly luxurious feel. It's also even softer than before. Made of sustainable 100% organic cotton from Turkey for the ultimate in comfort.

Used to be fantastic, now just middle of the road
This is the third bathrobe from LL Bean I've had in the last 20 years. It might be my last. I purchased the exact same size and color I've had for decades. So I'm comparing like for like for like...
The terry cloth is plush and feels quite good. That is not the problem...in fact, it's the saving grace.
The sizing that's provided is WAY off -- OR-- (more the case) to save a few pennies per unit, the factory has shortened just about every aspect of this garment. It's a solid 2 inches shorter than the one I just retired (purchased in 2017 and used just about daily). The arms are, nominally, 2 to three inches shorter and that makes it feel small (although the shoulders feel exactly on). The stitching is very weak (or extremely thin thread was used). So don't try flexing in it lest you want to rip the thing apart inadvertently.
I might have to learn to sew to make a new bathrobe for me in a couple years time. I don't foresee this having a lifespan that rivals the previous two. Hopefully I'm proven wrong

Very soft!
This is the second terry cloth robe that I’ve purchased from LLBean. The first was purchased over ten years ago, and I still wear it … but wanted a fresh one in another color. The new robe is extra soft and every bit as well made as the first. The sleeves are too long for me, which is a situation I’m used to having … all of my shirt sleeves always need shortening, too. With this robe, I rolled the sleeves up one cuff length, and that seems to work. I’m very pleased.
