It is thin. More suitable for temps in the 40s. Definitely need a heavy thigh length second layer if temps are in the 30s. The fleece lining makes it more challenging to put the coat on and off with a second layer.
Coat is tailored nicely, zipper works two ways, and the blue has received compliments by passersby.

Great lightweight fall jacket.
Great jacket for the fall and light winter days. Not designed for 32 and below. If you are looking for a really warm coat look for the lightweight down jacket.

ARMS AND POCKETS LET IN THE COLD
Love the length, love the furry type of fleece throughout body and even in hood! But really dislike that arms and pockets don’t have at least some kind of fabric lining. With only nylon in arms and pockets, my arms and hands get cold! Overall, L.L. Bean quality is not what it used to be. For example, I always ordered my husband’s shirts here, but no more. Sigh.

So Happy!!!!!
I just got my coat today and oh my gosh it is better than I expected. Fits beautifully! I am 5’7” and 160 lbs and got a regular large. It is lightweight but so warm and the fleece inside is sweet! The length is high thigh, but definitely long enough. I obviously am very happy!

Droopy lining
Have this jacket in the shorter style so decided to order the longer one as well. Inside fleece lining was hanging below hem of coat and could be seen. There was so much lining on the inside it just hung down like it was stretched out. Awful. Returned.
