Great Coat with a Few Minor Complaints
I bought this coat in January 2025. I wanted to wait a year to have time to wear it for 2 different winters. I bought a size 6 regular.
Firstly, this winter has been bitterly cold in Massachusetts -- multiple weeks of 0 degree, or even negative degree weather, in large part due to windchill.
I've worn this coat every day - whether going to work or shoveling snow or going on a walk. Obviously, I'm wearing a sweatshirt underneath the coat when I go out, so that helps with the warmth. I've had no problems. It's a nice coat. I don't feel embarrassed wearing it to work. It keeps me warm and I look pretty good in it.
I agree with someone's comment -- it's not a very tailored coat. It's certainly not a visually casual coat, but it's more of a straight cut without any real feminine tailoring around the waist.
I also agree with the comments that the pockets are too high. Does this make them unusable? No, but they are certainly less comfortable to stick your hands into for long periods when you don't have gloves. The pockets need to be maybe 2-3 inches lower.
My last minor complaint is that the split in the back of the coat needs to go slightly higher. Because the slit isn't very high, whenever I get into my car or sit down, the coat rides up my neck a few inches. I need to then readjust and pull the coat down again. Not a world ending issue, but a minor irritation.

Weird cut, very narrow through mid body an hip area. Doesn't allow for ANY curves. Beautiful fabric and workmanship. Please have manufacturers improve

Nice Fabric, Small Sizing
Beautiful coat, rich soft wool. I sized up and it was too tight in the chest, too big in shoulders. An oversized fit except in the chest where I couldn’t come close to buttoning. I have a large bust, but compared to Bean’s normal sizing the fit was off. Returned 😔

Nice coat and it's wool.
I was looking for a grey wool coat about knee length and LLBean had what I wanted. I was surprised at how many winter dress coats had no or very little wool in them and at a much higher price. This coat also has thinsalite for added warmth.

It’s a beautiful, dressy classic coat. I love the way it fits and the longer length. I bought the camel color in a 12P and can easily wear a sweater underneath.i’m 5’ 120lbs. I must admit I have the short polo pea coat in Navy and knew the warmth and quality of the coat.
