Warm, Comfortable, Good Value
This was my seventh LL Bean vest. I have one for all occasions! This one is pretty versatile. It is not as dressy as the waterfowl sweater vest but is nice enough to wear to the grocery store or dressed up for a night out, and the Deep Woods Green Heather is neutral enough to go with a variety of outfits. A word of caution: if you are a stick and wear nothing but muscle shirts or want to go for the authentic commando look then ordering in your regular size will work, but if you are a bit chunky (I am a regular XL traditional fit) you may want to upsize. I fretted about the slim fit for some time and at the last minute went for the XXL. I'm not sorry I did. The fit is comfortable and will substitute for a bulky coat for most occasions. The wool is water repellant. Probably not good in a Florida rain but will work in a Seattle mist or certainly in a drippy tule fog of California Central Valley. I especially like the zippered pockets which were previously only available on the sweater fleece vests!
