Inspired by an original - ours. Our Field Coat was first introduced in 1924 as the Maine Duck Hunting Coat. It was an immediate favorite - loved for its rugged look and quality craftsmanship. Plus, it coordinated perfectly with our Maine Duck Hunting Boots (now known as "Bean Boots"). The legacy continues with this stylish lighter version. Somewhat disappointed
I just received this jacket, and since it has an unpleasant smell, I wanted to wash it even before I hung it up in my closet. After washing and drying it on medium the smell was gone, but the fabric is stiff. Even my jeans jackets are softer. I hope with further washes it will soften.

Perfect!
I bought the green-blue one and adore the color. It’s so different for a jacket like this. Also, it’s cropped, so a bit more stylish, too. I have longish arms, and the fit is fine for me. It’s not lined, so I probably won’t wear it in the winter, but a definite yes for spring and fall and cool summer nights. I can get a lightweight sweater under it, as well.
