Rugged pants inspired by a pair from our own archives, with authentic pockets and classic workwear details. We chose a premium canvas fabric with a substantial weight and just the right amount of stretch, then slightly distressed it for added character.
These workwear-inspired canvas pants are based on a pair of utility pants from the L.L.Bean archives. We kept their rugged functionality and handsome good looks, but lightened them up for everyday wear in a substantial canvas fabric with just the right amount of stretch. They have the feel of a great vintage find, but with an updated fit that makes them even easier to love.
- Midweight stretch canvas fabric.
- 98% cotton, 2% spandex.
- Machine wash and dry.
- Front pockets are reinforced with rivets.
- Specially washed and sanded for a well-loved look and feel.
- Double-layer front panels.
- Six utility pockets, including front pockets and back pockets.

Good quality but design needs improvement
The quality of the pants is good. The fly is too short. It should be at least another two inches in length to provide good usability. The inseam appeared to be an inch too long for the 29" I requested. I got these pants to replace the Katahdin pants I've had for 15 years and are still going strong. I believe my original Katahdin pants were made in the USA unlike these and are far superior.

Casual Clothing
I've always been an outdoor guy. Some of my clothing is light and airy for summer and others vary in weight depending on the season and the activity. LL Bean seams to be the best place to get clothing that fits comfortable, fits the activity and holds up. I don't mind if I need to pay a bit more for quality garments. I believe that I have never returned a garment to LL Bean.

These pants are my new favorites. They are so soft and substantial. As for the look, they are not baggy but just right for a classic style. The classic fit therefore is perfect. They are so comfortable and fit like they were tailored. The reinforced areas are also a nice touch. The front pockets are sufficient, but could have been a bit deeper. The right side pockets are helpful to put your phone. They kind of have a Riverton vibe, but fit so much better. You can also tell they are the signature line with the hardware. Overall, my new favorites. I hope they come out with other colors.
