I love everything except shoulder straps
This backpack is everything I am looking for. The 28 L is perfect for an all day day hike with enough space for 6+ L of hydration (I hike in the desert), lunch, dog supplies, clothes, first aid and phone. It is easy to use with a nice easy access panel on the back for storing my dog bowl or a jacket. Unfortunately though, it didn't fit my body. The length of the pack is perfect (I'm 5'9) and the hip straps lined up perfectly with my hips, but the problem was the shoulder straps. When the sternum strap is done up the shoulder straps bulge out and do not conform to my shoulders. And they are too wide and they rub on my arms. In other words, the shoulder straps seem to be designed for a man with bigger shoulders. Not a women with skinny shoulders.
Alas, the search for the perfect day pack continues. LLBean was really close on this one.

I especially like the shoulder straps (well padded), the chest belt and the waist belt. All seem solidly made. The price is a little high, but seems worth it.

Definitely the added volume I was looking for in comparison with my original stowaway ! Solid construction, hip clasps have been beefed up so that’s a plus. Old internal “stowaway pocket” is now accessible with an exterior zipper. Additional mesh pocket in the main pocket is a plus. Chest strap/clasp will be my largest negative - I preferred the “rail” system anchoring the chest strap to the backpack’s shoulder straps. New sewn “cargo ladder” and clip style doesn’t allow for as much adjustability - it can be fiddled with. Second item for the chest strap, I would prefer both halves to be adjustable as opposed to only one adjustable side and one elastic side.
