Flimsy weight.
The hat is rather flimsy for a $45 LL Bean product. However the fabric is probably sufficient to repel water. You may like the ability to fold into a pocket.

Great rain hat that really works
I bought this last spring and it comes in handy when you're out shopping and all of a sudden there's a rain storm and you didn't expect it and didn't bring an umbrella. So now I take it with me whenever there's a chance of rain because it keeps my head completely dry. The chin strap is great in case of wind. The chi.n strap is detachable in case you're not worried about the wind.

Great Rain Hat
My coworker has this hat and he says that it keeps his head dry even in Florida downpours. I will be testing it out when I go back to work next week. So far it fits well and I can see it will keep my poor head dry also. Cheers

Size Small - ! I have a small head and finding hats that fit is difficult. This worked great on my rainy Alaska cruise in September. Got several compliments on the Yellow color.

Sun hat
This is the perfect hat to wear for walking, running, gardening, and all outside activities. The inside band does absorb the sweat that comes when doing outside activities.

Sadly underused rain hat
Can't say much about effectiveness because it literally has not rained since I bought the hat (months). However it's well made and large enough for my big noggin so that right there gets 4 stars.

Accidental find
Bought this for my son because he forgot to bring his yellow sun hat on an east coast trip. Happened to see it at the LL Bean store in Dedham when I was looking for a rain jacket. He loves it.
