Rated 1 out of 5 by from New cresta hiker not old one! The old version had goretex, made in Italy and lasted. New ones are tek, metal tags fall off and ankles wear holes in 2 months. Stear clear. Had to go back to asolo

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke less than 3 months old I bought these boots less than 3 months ago. One of the lugs (lace hoops) broke making them useless for the ankle support I bought them for. For the price of these boots I’d expect better quality. Unfortunate, since they are so comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good version of my favorite hiking boots Easy to break in and comfortable from the start. I hope these will last well like my Italian made pair from 2012. Two concerns: the flat cloth laces catch at the first pair of clips, so that chafing may wear them out quickly. The softer clips on my Maine-made Bean Hunting boots are easier on laces. And the toe leather shows a tiny wound that will have to be watched and kept lubricated. Mink oil (silicone) seems to have disappeared, but a beeswax alternative may suffice. Great boots. We’ll see how long they last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from These should be called something different I’ve bought 7 pairs of these for work over the decades and they have recently changed. They don’t feel the same and the materials are slightly different.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Need to break them in This boot is somewhat stiff and was kinda surprised because it has a Vibram sole. I’ve been slowly working them in. I did a 3 hour hike in 6” of snow and my feet remained warm and dry. Good comfort and traction. They appear to have solid construction and are well made.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expensive junk You would think for $280 these would be good boots that would last a long time. From my experience, one sole completely fell off while I was in the woods making the rest of the day less than ideal. The only thing holding the soles on is glue. I would not waste my money on these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT waterproof at all I waited patiently for the new boots to come out. I’m on my third pair in just a handful of months because of major defects when the boots arrived. The 3rd pair that I am now wearing,I was able to fix on my own. I managed to deal with all this BUT they are NOT waterproof! I’ve owned Crestas for probably 30 years and I’ve never had this issue until this new addition came out. The issue seems to be in the front. The other problem is that pieces of leather are constantly coming off. Never had this issue before either with such little use. For the cost, I’m quite shocked at how far downhill the quality has gone. Very disappointed because I need these boots for the ankle support and they had always been perfect for my hiking needs. I’ve been trying to get by but we got a dusting of snow Sunday and the boots were wet inside when I got home!
