Practical and tactical from
Hiking boots used for work boats
I ordered my usual boot size of 11.5 and these hiking boots fit well so the boot sizing is accurate. The toe box is just right with good foot and ankle support when this boot is fully laced and tightened. I have not yet tested the waterproof character of these boots. I will use these boots in the winter with snow and slush and also in the spring and summer to work outdoors. These boots seem well constructed so I hope they last me a long time. Great purchase.

Bought these to replace my old Men's Trail Model 4 Hiking Boots. They didn't wear out but were filthy. True to size and not much breaking in necessary. Really comfortable and warm.

Don't Stay Tight
I wish I liked these more. They are fine for things like good fit, being well-built, very waterproof, and a good-size finger loop to aid getting them on. However, I want more support on the upper part of my feet and ankle. In my late 70's, I am not young anymore, and I worry about ankle support. I want to be able to feel the snugness. I can tighten them very tight so they do feel snug, but after about 10 steps, the laces loosen up (stretch), even with a double knot. The snugness is gone. After an online search about hiking boot laces loosening, I read that flat laces are better, so I paid $10 for a pair of new laces. The flat laces are an improvement over the round ones, but not totally. I still wish these were made up-front with a better lacing system.
