Petite Ultra warm jacket
I purchased this coat as a barn/chore coat for colder temps. It is surprisingly warm for its weight .
I am 5 ft 155 lbs and the petite large fit well , with room for a turtleneck and sweatshirt underneath.
I appreciate that the hood is adjustable so as to fit a short person comfortably ,without falling down over my eyes.
Here are the Cons , tho…
There is a chest pocket but it’s on the inside , so you have to unzip the jacket to get to it . Not handy in the cold as that’s the only pocket to safely secure a phone.
There is a second inside pocket that’s 3”x7” , and I’ve yet to figure out what earthly good it serves . Way too deep and narrow for anything other than maybe a cigar .
The hood came with a zip off fake fur trim that is undeniably the cheapest looking thing I’ve ever seen.
I had ordered this online and the price shown was $220. But when I received it , the price tag was $199 !!! I’d really LOVE for LL Bean to explain why I paid an extra $21 for the coat !
Overall , it’s a decent coat . Warm , fits well. But a redesign would ditch the cheap fur on the hood and include a decent sized chest pocket on the outside .

Uncertain about aspects
Wanted this to work, but have only tried it on and haven’t worn it. Am concerned that it is a few inches too short. The jacked seems well made. The fur on the hood isn’t bold enough.

Not Flattering
It is not a flattering fit. It is a very boxy and shapeless fit and seemed like it needs an adjustable cord at the bottom for a better fit. It’s too large and boxy.

Poor Quality
Really disappointed with this coat. It runs big but is tight around the hips and falls at an odd place on the hip. It does have the double zipper to accommodate that issue. However the cuff inside the sleeve is made from very cheap felt-like material. The fur on the hood isn’t even half as fluffy as it appears in the pictures, and I couldn’t get the separations out. The reason I’m returning this is there is Velcro on the hood that sticks to sweaters, which I wear daily. Especially at this price, the quality of this coat is very poor.

Absurd Hood
The jacket fits beautifully (room for hips) and seems like it would be very warm. There is a fatal flaw, however: the hood. For me, a hood is a winter coat essential. But the hood on this jacket is so, so bad that it needs to be removed to make the jacket wearable. Why is the hood so bad? First off, the fur. What looks cute online is horrendous in person; flat and floppy, in your face. Shapeless. Removing it is easy via the zipper, however, even without the fur the hood is comically large. No amount of adjustment will do. (I am a tall woman with a large head). As if that weren't bad enough, the hood flaps that are made to secure around your face in extreme weather are laughable. They are large and floppy when not in use (which is 99.9% of the time), and don't stow anywhere. I've had other jackets where the hood flaps stow ingeniously in the collar. Maybe try that, LLBean? I was so happy to find a simple, black down jacket that fits my hips, only to be majorly let down by the ruinous hood. Maybe next year!

The absolute best!
In love with this coat! I had purchased this exact coat over 25 years ago and finally, the time had come for an upgrade. It's very warm for Ohio winters. It"s also very stylish with deep pockets, dual zipper, and a soft inner lining.
