Neck too tight. (Chemical?) Coating
Been looking for a Forest Green T and my wife got me this for xmas. It was a little bigger than the usual XL t-shrits I get, but was fine. The collar was tight but I figured I could carefully stretch it out like with some other shirts I have. When I took it out after it's first wash there was a little soap that was showing up on the shirt (which happens occasionally with other dark clothes). When I rinsed it the water rolled right off the fabric, which is not what happens with 100% cotton. I conclude that there must be something in or on the fabric that is causing this water proofing effect, perhaps a (chemical?) treatment to prevent the shirt from fading??? Anyhow, the neck was too tight, it did not feel nice and was weird how water rolled off it like that!
Additionally, the neck fabric must had had polyester in it as I was not able to stretch it. I washed the shirt another couple times and the 'coating' didn't seem to wear off and found the shirt uncomfortable. Seems others like these features but no-go for me and off to the thrift store it went. Bean is usually good about returns and I suppose I should have tried that.
