38 years and still my go-to winter coat
I received an LL Bean Game Warden coat in 1988 for Christmas to protect myself from Pittsburgh winters. It took a ten year break stored in a chest in Alabama from ‘95 to ‘04. Not a pretty sight after a decade of humidity stuffed in a basement. Threw it in the washing machine when I moved to Colorado. Presto-back to mint condition. I now live back east in the Blue Ridge. I’m 64. The coat remains in perfect condition. When the snow flies or the windchill gets low, there is not a better “protect me from the elements” jacket out there. I have skied, hunted, fished, plowed, shoveled, snowshoed, and hiked in this coat. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION POSSIBLE.

A 4WOW coat.
I just got this in the mail end of July. It’s a long time till November cold so I can’t test it. I don’t need to test it. It’s a totally WOW WOW WOW WOW coat. I have other Bean coats and jackets and none of them will equal the warmth of the Maine Warden’s inner jacket or any of the details of manufacture. Zippers: perfect. The collar on the inner liner is SUPER, better than other LLBean coats and jackets incl the down ones. I’m 78 and know outdoor winter gear. This coat system beats the best ice fishing suit coats. Forget any other LLBean winter jacket or coat. SUPER coat(s). The coat I’m wearing in this photo is LLBean’s 800 down jacket and it’s good for freezing and above.
