Our founder, L.L., first introduced genuine handsewn mocs 100 years ago in 1926, and we've made them better than ever before. We added a more flexible insole and upgraded the foam underfoot for immediate comfort right out of the box. A new leather sock liner molds to your foot over time for custom comfort and a barefoot feel. And new, high-quality leathers that start out comfy and get better the more you wear them.

Looks like a worthy upgrade...
...but if you went to that trouble, I sure wish you would have upgraded the grommets to brass. Easy (and inexpensive!) way to elevate this otherwise great shoe!

A classic
I have been wearing these shoes since the 90s. I moved away from them for a while, but I was missing them. I’m so glad that they’re still being sold. When they arrived and I put them on; they felt like an old friend. The quality is unsurpassable as well as the fit. Thank you, L.L. Bean for making a great product.
