I bought as a lightweight functional backpack to take on the classic diesel train up Mount Washington New Hampshire summit (2,288’ above sea level) The seating is cozy tight so the pack needed to be lightweight but handy to carry our essentials. This bag did not disappoint. Easy to wipe off and clean after our trip. Many compartments that don’t get in the way. Use them or not. I will say, lots of straps that dangle. Again depends on how you use it, you can shorten them. I’m very happy with this bag.

Love the size
I bought this about a month ago to bring with me to the Azores and Portugal. I had a similar one from LLBean that I had for over 10+ years and I gave it to my grandchild.
I own larger backpacks that I’ve used for hiking and traveling and now prefer the smaller version for everyday use.
It’s lightweight, has enough inner pockets and its outer pockets were strong enough to hold my larger water bottle. This past trip I had definite size limits for luggage and the airlines (TAP) measured all luggage. My larger backpack would not have been allowed and I would have had to check it and pay another luggage fee.
I’d recommend this backpack for any age group for everyday use, hiking trekking etc. Enjoy.
