Disappointed
I returned the boots because (as another reviewer commented,) the tongue being sewn up to the top of the boot made it nearly impossible for me to get it on. VERY DISAPPOINTED as I have previously owned and loved the Bean boot.

impossible to put on
When I first took these out of the box, I loved them--the look, the sole, the rubber part to keep feet dry. That is, I loved them until I tried to put them on. I have high insteps, and at 73, my feet and ankles are not as flexible as they once were. The attached tongue makes the opening very narrow, and it was impossible for me to get my feet into them. Reading reviews, I see others had the same problem. After returning these, I tried the step-in model with a zipper. Nope. Same problem. They went back too. I thought maybe the sneaker boots might work, but this time I read the reviews first, and saw that they have the same problem. Please, Bean, make some boots that are not so hard to put on!

Very cute & classy
I rated these boots as a two bc they are beautifully made but painful to wear. The quality is phenomenal and to that point the material is very rough and hard on the sensitive top part of my foot. The foot alone is delicate with thin skin and the boots do not feel good with the quality of the tan brown/tongue of the boot. The natural creases rubbed up against the top of my foot and caused so much pain after a few steps, maybe 30 at a medium pace. Great quality for a man.

Great, comfy boots!
These are my first pair of bean boots I have ever bought. I've had them for a couple of months now. I went by the size chart and recommended size and they fit like a glove. I went with the brown and love them! They are sturdy and very comfortable for me. I work in the Botanic Gardens and being on my feet all day in rain and cold - these boots have held up and help me to feel safe. The leather is so pliable and soft after breaking them in and now they are my go-to shoes when running errands and even just for everyday. The leather feels so lux. I wear these with "bean socks" and I couldn't have asked for a more comfortable pairing - even with my bunions.
