Love this jacket!
We bought this jacket for my husband. He gets cold easily and this jacket has kept him warm. It's not bulky at all. The color is beautiful. 10/10 recommend

A great value & very functional
I shopped far and wide for a ski jacket having the features I needed. One critical item this coat has that others do not is a bottom zipper. For a coat on the longer side this was a must for me to be able to sit on a ski lift comfortably. I was aware of the issues with the zipper so I was prepared to deal with it and really it is no big deal as I know how to deal with the small problem. Other features that this coat has is many useful and well located pockets. I have not used the hood yet, but it is nice to know it is there when I need it. The coat is warm at temps in the 20's. It seems very windproof too (tested that on a recent ski trip in VT). Also appreciated is the water resistant material used. I have received compliments on the appearance of the coat from other skiers. I am 135lbs, 5'7" and the small fits perfect and allows room for a fleece vest underneath. For the money I do not think you will find a better coat in terms of function, fit, and quality. My actual rating is 4.5 with a half point deduction for the rather minor issues with the lower zipper .

New favorite jacket
The lightweight pakaway wasn't warm enough, but this jacket is perfectly warm and cozy, with more pockets then I know what to do with.

Lightweight jacket
I was hoping this could replace my last llbean jacket because of course no manufacturer can just keep making the same items for long periods of time, so I have to spend hours researching a replacement.
This jacket is light, which could be a good thing, but it isn't anywhere near as warm as my last jacket.
As others have said, the hood is a weird size, maybe useful if you are wearing a ski helmet, but my helmet is plenty warm on its own and I'd guess that the vents in the helmet wouldn't be much use with this hood so I can't imagine ever using the hood (it falls down over my eyes when I'm driving).
I wish lllean published a temperature guide like some manufacturers do so I could compare jackets to find one that is good for cold new england winters.
I couldn't make the armpit zippers work consistently - they like to zip up but not down.
I will be returning this.

Zipper didn’t last 3 months!
I thought this coat would be perfect for my son. It was perfect until the zipper came apart two weeks ago. I’m going to try another coat with the hope that this defective zipper was a fluke.
Possible updates to come.
