Too Hot from
Great for anyone who runs hot
Love this top. I've run hot my entire life, and it can get very hot and dry where I live. I purchased the vertical blue striped one (pretty!) in M petite. It is true that it is roomy, and it's not exactly slimming. It's not that kind of vibe. It's a relaxed, resort kind of mood, and I'm all for it. (I generally fit a MP on top if it's relaxed fit. The MP Scotch flannel shirt is relaxed fit but for some reason, it was slightly too small on me, and I have no idea why. Hopefully this info can help someone.) The fabric was more substantial than I thought, but surprisingly kept me very cool even in the hottest weather. I prefer linen year round, but this cloud gauze fabric also draped nicely (though differently) and kept me very cool, even though it was thicker. It doesn't wrinkle because it's got its own texture (like seersucker has its own texture). I love that the neckline isn't super high (more flattering to those without swan necks) and the armhole isn't tight. A casual viewer can't see my bra through the armhole. The fabric for the striped blue version is not see-through. I could wear this braless. I'd get a second top, but they're out of the color I want (French lilac), and the other colors are either not my color (navy and coral) or too muted (the rest). Because I run super hot, I don't buy hot-weather tops with collars. The collars touch my neck and make them unbearably hot. So this open neck top is wonderful. Hope LLBean will offer more tops in cloud gauze and linen that don't have a shirt collar. (I would love a cardigan or even a blazer (with real, deep pockets that fit a smart phone!) in this fabric. Sometimes I have to wear a light jacket to look more put together, and I would love a jacket in this fabric, as it would keep me cool even though I'm socially obligated to wear a second layer.
