Shrunk
Love the cut, the color, and the look of this sweater. It runs small so I had to buy a size larger than my other Bean sweaters. Unfortunately. I did not read the reviews or the care tag and machine washed it. It’s been so long since I’ve owned anything that can’t be machine washed in cold water, I didn’t give it a second thought. Also, as others mentioned, it is very scratchy which didn’t really bother me before, but now that the sweater is so tight it makes it unbearable. Too bad. It was my very favorite for a couple of weeks.

Classic Ragg Wool Sweater Navy
I have just purchased this sweater for the second time in 2-3 years. I must report that the first one (a size L) has shrunk from hand washing...altho I may have washed it in washing machine on cold, gentle, and air dried. But I love the sweater so much I just purchased another L and guess I'll stick to hand washing. This sweater reminds me of my 1950s-1960s childhood and the WW II war surplus skis, snowshoes, and sweaters and jackets my dad found for us to use when we snowshoed into our cabin in the Oregon Cascades. Let's call the sweater - and the memories - timeless.

Not for me
Sadly, though I loved the color and design, I returned this sweater. I bought the exact same size as other Bean sweaters I have and it was such an odd cut with about of fabric in the shoulders and under the arms. It was also super scratchy - much more so than other wool sweaters I’ve gotten from Bean in the past, so… this one, unfortunately, wasn’t for me.

Stiff & Not Super Warm
As the sweater is knit in Merino wool, I expected it to be much warmer. Also I find it very stiff which hopefully repeated wear will resolve.
