This great-looking traditional outerwear combines the rugged durability of waxed cotton and the warmth of down insulation. Tough British Millerain waxed cotton is water resistant and highly abrasion resistant.

THIS IS THE PERFECT BARN COAT!!!!
I cannot rave enough about this coat. I’m in California and it’s PERFECT for the temps with a tee or long sleeve. I prefer something durable to a hoody or cotton jacket for the barn. I’m 145 lbs and got the small and it’s perfectly roomy and comfortable. You can move easily and the fabric feels durable without being too tough. Tons of deep pockets and zipper pockets for stuff. Now LLBean can you make the same thing in a lighter version for cool summer/spring so I can wear a version year round? So happy with this purchase.

Mixed Feelings
Surprised this is rated "Warmest" as I was chilly wearing it on a 32-degree day with a cashmere sweater underneath. Exchanged the M for an L so I could wear a fleece jacket with it and have a bit more room in the shoulders for shoveling snow. Pockets, cuffs and quilting are nice; the zipper on the L takes a bit of work to disengage, not sure why. I'm keeping it since it's on the stylish side, isn't a puffy down jacket and doesn't have a hood. Wish it was a bit longer.

Fall between sizes
I think this jacket is top notch although I don’t fit in either M (usual size) which spans too much thru my chest (38C, 145 lb, 5’3) or the L which is too large with sleeves that come down over more than half my hands and too much extra room up front & in shoulders. Went into the local brick & mortar LLBean and they don’t carry this in the store so I’ve ordered twice online - 1st order large, 2nd order medium. I think I need a petite large but this isn’t made in petites. Unfortunately back both go.

Great coat, but not durable
I bought this in olive just over a year ago. I love the coat - it is very warm and looks great. However after only about a year, the seams in the sleeves are beginning to wear with small holes and frayed areas. It's beginning to look distressed amd I have treated it very gently.

I purchased the sweater/jacket because it is the perfect fit for our winters' here in Northern California. UNFORTUNATELY, THE SIZE ORDERED IS TOO SMALL WITH A SWEATER UNDERNEATH> I HAVE TRIED TO GET A WOMENS SIZE PLUS 3X IN ANY COLOR< BUT YOU ARE OUT OF STOCK> PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF/WHEN YOU WILL HAVE PREFEREDLY SIZE PLUS LODEN 3X.
