Just what he needed
Bought this for my son as a gift. He now has a dog and is outside frequently. This jacket is perfect (his words).

Warm, lightweight, and stylish
I got this jacket as a gift for my father who was looking for a lightweight but warm jacket for a New England winter. This definitely fits the bill, and is stylish to boot.

Nice
Very warm and comfortable. Could have used a few more pockets on the inside, but that’s just me…

Great option for Cold Weather
This jacket worked great for a trip to Europe over the new year. Temperatures were in the 20's & 30's and windy, but I felt very warm. Inside, it was still comfortable to wear. I would recommend the jacket. Being packable was a big plus. We left and it was 75 degrees, so I was able to put it in my backpack on the trip over. If LL Bean looks at the reviews, I would recommend one improvement. On the trip back, I didn't have the storage in my backpack, so I had to carry the packed pouch and it was hard to keep up with. If could recommend a simple improvement, it would be to have a strap sewn into packing pocket either be able to carry it in your hands or make the strap wide enough to put it over the luggage handle so it can go with your suitcase and not have to carry it at all. A very simple fix that would make it even more packable. Send me a replacement if you do!

It isn't warm
I bought this jacket in March of 2025 and just started wearing it this winter in Michigan. It was the successor to a Baxter State model parka which was not looking good after several years. While this jacket is ultralight and packable, it is definitely not warm so I don't know if the down has any effect on warmth. On a 20 degree day today I had two layers under the jacket and could probably have used another thin layer to make it feel as warm as the Baxter State model. Also I did belatedly take notice that the jacket does not have the two handy chest level pockets that the Baxter State model has. It is disappointing.

Love this jacket!
Bought this jacket for my husband and he absolutely loves it! Keeps him warm and dry on his walks in mixed precipitation. This is exactly what he asked for, a jacket that is warm, covering the lower back that keeps him dry. This is the jacket he wears to when he attends outdoor sports during the winter months in New England.
