Very light and warm down jacket.
A very light and warm and quite attractive down jacket. I wish you could find thicker loft jackets and coats for those who prefer warmth over weight and packability. But that aside, it does provide near weightless warmth with excellent protection from rain, snow and wind.

High quality, super warm, and blocks wind.
Have been an LL Bean customer since my parents bought my clothes as a child. Have had a lot of LLB coats and only recently got this one. I've been missing out. Out of all the coats I've gotten - this one by far is my favorite. As they state - it's packable, repells water, blocks wind really well, and is very warm. I've been shocked about how good this jacket is. Has kept me warm in temps down to 15°F. Perfect for taking on trips. It's comparable to the Primaloft jacket, but the UltraLight 850 is warmer.
The Men's Waterproof Ultralight Down Jacket or Baxter State Parkas are my go to jackets when facing brutally cold temps and conditions locally (but don't take them on the road as often since they're much larger to carry on trips). For local travel and outdoors stuff including hiking - the Ultralight 850 Down Jacket has been perfect. Highly recommend.
