Great “budget” reel
I fish a variety of freshwater species in New England; bass, panfish, pickerel, trout. I have never found that I need anything more than a click reel for those species - even bass are fine on a clicker.
This reel is a great one - looks similar to my CFOiii, holds a Rio FIPs line with 100yrd of backing, and for the price I doubt you’d get a machined in Korea reel.
Get one - they work - they’re the right price - they have spools.
I’ll be carrying mine with a euro line and a spare spool with a double taper 3wt line for a 10’6” 3wt euro nymphing rod.

Great little reel.
A very nice little reel for a fair price. Holds a 4 weight line and enough backing. Looks as nice as the online pictures, maybe better. My only quibble is that the reel foot could be a little thinner for use with cap and ring reel seats.

Great Fly Reel
Very well build, tight tolerance between spool and reel, no wobble. I have mine on a 2wt pack rod. It has a very audible out going purr when the drag is being stripped off.

Very nice reel, especially at it's price point
I have a fair few click and pawl reels. A couple are nicer, but they darn well better be at 3 or 4 times the price. I have others from other makers that are in a similar price range (slightly more, I won't name any names). The LL Bean reel is easily as good as any other reel that I have used in this price range, even at +$30 from it's price point. A nice reel and a good value. I have been using it for a couple of years, so If something was going to fail due to poor quality or design, it would have done it by now.

A TRADITIONAL HISTORIC REEL
This reel has the classic fly rod traditional look & click sound. Too many reels & in fact the remainder of reels in the LL Bean line and in the lines of all reel manufacturers have lost the historic traditional looks & feel & sound in a rush to embrace reels that look more like something from outer space. LL Bean needs to make this reel in a 5-6, 7-8 size as well.
