Biggest bang for the buck!
I have two of the 7wt Streamlight spey rods. I bought one, a Streamlight Ultra, in 2011 and have been using it regularly ever since. The second one, one of the original Streamlight spey rods, I inherited from a good friend who passed away a few years ago. These are still my go-to steelhead rods for most of my steelhead fishing here in Oregon. Anyone who has fished both these Streamlight rods and other rods out there of the same length and line weight—even those costing much more—knows what a screaming deal they are. They’re light in hand and have a sweet action that I find very easy and pleasurable to cast. In summer, I generally use a scandi head of 450 or 480 grains; in winter, I use a skagit head of 510 or 540 grains—but your mileage may differ. If you’re starting just out in the spey game or already have a great 7wt and are looking for a good backup, I don’t think you can go wrong with one of these—especially at this price. To top it all off, you also get the LL Bean guarantee, which is about as good as it gets, but hey, don’t take my word for it. Check it out!

Well built, my 8 wt. came with a 'reel on' case !
Like the add states, it casts well for the money and since it was the first two hander that i ever cast, i at first found it difficult but once i had someone school me on heads, tips, leaders etc. reaching out with skagit set ups to 100 ft. became easier and easier. the LL Bean 13' 8 wt. is my winter steelhead two hander on local oregon rivers.
