Nice jacket, not so great fit
I bought the men's version for my husband a couple years ago and he loves it. This year I decided to get one for myself. It's the same nice lightweight material, but the fit was all wrong. The sleeves were bulky and long while the hips were really snug. If I had gone a size up the sleeves would have been way too big. I wish they made a version of this coat that was shaped for curvy women.

Needs two way zipper!
I bought this three years ago in rose and it served me well on a trip to finland in May where I had to deal with variations in cold in May/June. would not be warm enough for temperatures in the 30s if you are out for a long time without a substantial mid layer, but it’s roomy for a small. overall it’s ideal as a colder season travel jacket, except for the fact that the zipper is not a two way which greatly limits it’s versatility when you want to for example where a belt pack underneath and have access to it while keeping your chest warm. I love the huge inner pocket which actually allows me to fit my Crossbody bag when I am boarding a plane. I would buy another one in black for winter trips to European cities if it would have it two way zipper. I agree that the hood could be made more comfortable around the neck, but like the hood enough

Perfect jacket for rainy WA winters
This is my second Waterproof PrimaLoft Packaway Jacket ... highly recommended! I'm keeping the older one for puttering around the yard. My new one is just as wonderful for keeping me dry and warm even in downpours. The zippered pockets are roomy for carrying cleanup items needed when walking my dogs. The jacket easily accommodates a heavy sweater or fleece underneath and is light weight allowing for arm flexibility. The M fit is comfortable for my 5'5" height, weight unknown. The dark purple color is beautiful. This is the umpteenth item purchased from LL Bean: I buy almost everything from LL Bean because Bean clothes and boots fit comfortably and are well-made.

Almost perfect
I had high hopes for this almost perfect jacket. It has amazing snug cuffs that are lined with soft material, it's a great length, and is very warm while being light. The problems I couldn't get past were a one-way zipper (this was in other reviews but I didn't think it would be the issue that it is) and a hood that has very stiff front edges. Put a two-way zipper in and make the collar separate from the hood so it could be flat and away from your face when the hood is off, and it would be the perfect jacket.
I recommend it if you those two issues wouldn't be a deal breaker for you.
