Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Parka Overall, I'm happy with this parka. I'm 5'8", 185lb with broad shoulders and it fits well. Only a little tight when I cross arms. The parka is warm in very cold weather, the zipper works and the hood is great. The pockets are lined which is a nice feature. Downsides, no waste cinch, it leaks feathers onto my clothes and no inside breast pocket where I like for my phone. I decided to keep it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Maine Mountain Parka vs Baxter State Parka The Maine Mountain Parka is a great coat. I'm comparing it to the Baxter State Parka that I have been wearing for 15 years, and it is better in some respects and not others. I like the extra length of the coat and the deeper snorkel hood. I was expecting it to be a little warmer than the Baxter State, but I can't say that it is. The arms are noticeably colder than the Baxter State at temps. below 20f. I had a problem with the fur trim backing on the hood jabbing my face which was remedied by removing it, but you lose the benefit of the fur. I would have given it 5 stars except for the issues I mentioned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth It I wore this on a ski trip in VT on top of the mountain we had wind chills in the -20s I wasn't afraid for a second. Still warm and comfortable. Honestly such a great parka. Doesn't need much layering to be consistently comfortable in subfreezing temperatures. Hood is very effective at keeping out wind. Pockets are deep and plentiful. I really love this thing. Only complaint I could possibly have is sometime the zipper doesn't come together with the greatest of ease. other than that if you need winter gear thats going to hold up then buy this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice warm coast, but make it conspicuous This coast is really warm and with a fleece jacket underneath I am comfortable in single digit (F) weather in Michigan. Against the snow, a black parka is visible during the daytime, but not a night. As a workaround, I put reflective straps around the wrist, around the flap that adjust the wrist and the loop that adjust the hood. I wish there were more ways to enhance its nighttime conspicuity without sewing material to it or going to a standalone reflective belt. It is important to understand that nighttime pedestrian fatalities could be reduced if pedestrians were more conspicuous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, comfortable, and extremely warm I've had this coat for two Chicago winters now, with a lengthy walking commute to work, and it's irreplaceable. No problem tackling single digits and below, big useful pockets, very warm hood, and great fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 8th winter with this coat I’ve worn this coat for 8 winters in the NorthEast and it’s the warmest coat I’ve ever owned. Pockets are great and plentiful. The hood with trim keeps me so warm

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great parka, but sheds too much! The parka fits perfectly and is super warm. There’s only one issue, the fur keeps coming out, sticking to my clothes. Also the zipper doesn’t work very well.
