Too short for a staff, too weak for a cane...
I'm 6' 1", and bought this for an all around walking staff for the woods and trails. I have other trekking poles, LLBean, Black Diamond, but liked the handle design on this one. The staff is too short to hold it by the vertical handle section, this may be good for children or shorter adults, but not for me. If you use the horizontal part of the handle, like a cane, the construction of the staff is too weak to support that weight and direct weight load, so it would be a hazard to use. I sent it back for a refund, and am using my other poles until they make one longer.
