Runs very large, just OK
I normally wear an XL hat or helmet, and I would consider the large (L) hat that I ordered and received to be an XXL, way too large to be comfortable or useful in cold weather with the ear flaps down. With the ear flaps tucked up inside the body of the hat I might call it an XL.
Additionally, the outer material and inner insulation are thin and not very effective at keeping my head warm in very cold weather, even if it did fit properly.
In my opinion this as not an item worthy of the price (or of L.L. Bean reputation), but I’m keeping it anyway for “occasional” use. It does look nice.

Fits like a glove... actually it's a cap
I'm very pleased with the Hunter's Cap. I'm not a hunter, but my exposed ears in the cold weather are not protected by my regular caps which block out the sunlight. This cap is well insulated and very comfortable, my ears are happy too

Wish they had a scarf to match
I really like this hat. Malone color primaloft plaid. I wish they had a scarf to match or maybe a coat. Better yet a vest. .

Poor Quality
The material is thin, and the ear flaps did not adequately keep my ears warm. This is not the LL Bean quality I have come to expect. Very disappointed and returning the item.
