Shrinks a lot
I bought this in a large and a medium. Medium fit, so I returned the large. I loved it and received many compliments until I had to wash it for the first time. The medium shrunk a lot in the wash. Yes, I washed it on gentle cycle. No, I don’t put it in the dryer. Yes, I laid it flat to dry. By the time I washed it the large in my color was sold out. So I returned the medium. It was a wonderful sweater until it shrunk.

Looks fabulous, good quality
Beautiful fit, looks fabulous on me. LL Bean is one of a very few companies that has for the most part maintained quality in their products over the years. I still have a companion to this sweater - must be 40 years old now, and it is a little looser knit and looks more casual. Still my favorite..... My only complaint is the yarn in this version can get snagged a little easier, and the size tag that was glued on the sweater itself made a "pull" when I took it off -- really? I was not being careful, but I think they could have found a better place for the size tag.

Right length sleeves.
My husband has a problem with long sleeves not being long enough. A large gets the proper length sleeves, but is way too big. This sweater was perfect. Medium Tall meant it fit his torso with the right length sleeves. And it's comfortable.
