Inspired by an original - ours. Our Field Coat was first introduced in 1924 as the Maine Duck Hunting Coat. It was an immediate favorite - loved for its rugged look and quality craftsmanship. Plus, it coordinated perfectly with our Maine Duck Hunting Boots (now known as "Bean Boots"). The legacy continues with this stylish lighter version. We love timeless fall classics, but a timeless and seasonless classic is even better.

Super cute, but workmanship seems shoddy
Color and fit of this jacket are great. I bought it as a season transition jacket and don’t mind that it’s unlined. However, the quality of construction seems subpar for the brand and price point. Lots of errant threads at the seams, particularly the cuffs and button holes. Button holes also don’t feel fully sewn. A shame, since the design is great and I typically trust LL Bean.

Terrible quality
There's no lining, none! The button holes are poorly made, really hard to button the coat. I was so disappointed, certainly not the quality I expect from LL Bean.

Nice lightweight jacket
Although this jacket doesn't really provide much warmth, it's a nice lightweight jacket appropriate for a cool (but not cold) day or evening. The color is gorgeous.

Great Spring Jacket
Having owned the LL Bean barn jacket for years I was thrilled to see a lighter version, just right for spring. I bought the turquoise color and I love it. The only reason I did not give it five stars are the buttons. I’m 74 and have some arthritis in my hands and the buttons on the jacket are extremely hard to open and close. You should have used the same buttons as the flannel lined barn jacket.

I love the color and style of the coat. The only complaint I have about it is it is very tight in the cuff area. Other than that, it’s a great coat.

Disappointed
I bought this coat 3 weeks ago. Disappointed. My old LL Bean coat bought 20 years ago will remain my go to coat. The buttons need to be replaced, slightly frayed but overall suppieror to this new coat. I regret this purchase.
