Good Boots
I've had these since last fall and they meet my three main requirements: comfort, durability, and keeping my feet dry. The Trail Model X does a good job filling the hiking/work boot/mucky conditions category for me. They may be advertised as "budget", but they're definitely not low-quality. For me (and I know footwear is very subjective), the one glitch with these boots is that the sole and the upper seem to be a bit out of balance. The mid-sole and sole are heavy, hard and a bit rigid, but the upper is half mesh. I would have preferred a softer, more nimble ride from these boots. I already have heavy hiking boots (that I hardly wear) and trail runners (that I wear all the time). For me, the weight and stiffness of the sole makes this boot less useful than it would be with a lighter, more flexible sole. For folks carrying a heavy pack who want a bomb-proof sole with a lighter upper, this boot could be just what they're looking for. Overall, I'm very happy with them. Just wish they weren't quite so heavily built.

Great hiking boots!
I’ve been wearing the Trail model X hiking shoes for several years and recently purchased the hiking boots. They’re very comfortable out of the box. I like the additional support the boots provide vs the shoes. Great hiking boots at a reasonable price!

The fit is so snug, it really helps with my walking, did not realized how loose my other shoes were till I got these. I now walk better with better balance.

The lacing is not very convenient.
Like them so far. Haven't had a good test of how waterproof they are but they live up to LL Bean so far.
