For nearly 90 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

Great, comfy flannel shirt!
Really like the Washed Buchanan color and the fabric is super comfy as others have mentioned. Big fan of LL Bean products and this shirt is no different. I will say it does run a little snug on the chest, so I had to order up a size. (Always wear XL with LL Bean) Enjoy!

Wonderful Shirt
I bought this shirt about a month ago and it is a very nice comfortable flannel shirt. Warm, cozy, and feels like an old friend. I needed another color and the yellow is perfect, not to mention that the sale price was too tempting to pass up. Thank-you L.L. Bean :-)

Excellent color, pattern, weight.
This latest flannel shirt purchase is my second shirt from this line of products. I love the weight of this flannel, it is just right for me as a senior to wear in the house on cold days. The sleeves wrinkle a little more than I would’ve expected, otherwise perfect.

Not as pictured
Both this Navy Stuart and the Washed MacIntosh I ordered appear with rich, vibrant colors on the website. In physical reality, the colors are faded, mute, dull and drastically different and unacceptable to me. Look at the MacIntosh on the site: the photo of the shirt being worn by the black model is vibrant; just below is same shirt worn by a bearded model -- it appears as a completely different shirt, looking as I've described above (did not notice when I was ordering :(. Any wonder I returned them? Did not even bother to unfold them and try on, so indicating "fit" in my review is a moot point. On a positive note, the Buffalo Plaid has rich dark reds and blacks -- I'm keeping this one. Photographic trickery on the other two, says I.
