Classic jacket!
The jacket looks great!
The outer material is a bit stiff at first but it becomes more flexible with time and wear. VERY happy with my purchase.

A Modern Version of the Classic Harrington Jacket
The original Harrington jacket came out in 1937, and today it costs $499 (I know because I just confirmed). This is a technically updated jacket made in the image of the Harrington. If you've ever seen the original version of "The Thomas Crown Affair" with Steve McQueen you'll see him wearing the original throughout the movie. The best way to describe the jacket is "classic cool."
I'd tried to purchase other, less expensive, knockoffs of the original Harrington jacket, but they neither look good nor feel good. This L.L. Bean Jacket does both. The outside of the jacket wears like iron and the liner is perfect for a cool evening for three seasons out of the year. I purchased it in size XXL Tall because that's the size i purchased in the same jacket with the insulated lining, but it's too large so I'm reordering a size LX Tall because this one serves a different purpose. I live in Southern California near the beach, and the insulated jacket is for winter, when I will layer for warmth. This cotton flannel-lined jacket is for the warmer months, and with the wind-resistant/rain-resistant shell and flannel lining, it's perfect to throw over a long-sleeved t-shirt when it becomes cool in the evening, or if the breezes are a bit stiff during the day.
If you want to see what it looks like on someone, the older, thinner, gray-haired & bearded model is a far better representation than any photo I might attach. Also, I have the jacket in blue, and it really does look cool as heck. However, since I already have it in blue with the insulated lining, I decided to reorder the flannel-lined one in black--the jacket on the model really does look good.
In passing, I've been buying L.L. Bean for the past 35 years, and I can attest that all their products last for years and wear like iron.
Bottom line: If you want a (actually, I'd say "the") light jacket for three-season comfort and style, this is the perfect jacket. Period. End of story.

Request for Better Jackets
I have made note of the fact that LL Bean needs to update their jacket designs. Make them more travel friendly (more pockets) and better designs. No.1 brighter linings (like red plaid in blue jackets). No.2 either felt or corduroy collars a bit of European flare.
