Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY. Bad stitching, leaks feathers. I purchased this expensive comforter in the hopes of having a product that would last for years. The first comforter that I received had poor stitching (for the box-stitch) immediately came undone/fell apart. Thinking it was a fluke, I ordered a replacement comforter. The same insanely low-quality product was shipped. The poor quality was not a fluke. From day-one the comforter LEAKED FEATHERS EVERYWHERE. I thought that this was a product of the manufacturing process (like the feathers were just outside of the blanket) - I was mistaken... The feathers leak out and blow everywhere! There are feathers all over my bedroom and surfaces every time I change the duvet. There are so many feathers leaking that they float into my hallway, and I have to take a shower after because the tiny feathers are in my long hair. The problem gets worse over time (I have owned the replacement comforter less than 6 months). The stitching just keeps unraveling and falling apart... the result is that more and more feathers poof out everywhere. I do not have any animals meaning that there are no holes from claws or bites. I use a duvet cover and anytime I change the duvet cover the inside of the duvet cover is filled with tiny feathers. I am from Maine, my dad used to work at LL Bean. The last LL Bean comforter I had lasted me 15+ years (purchased in 2000). I laundered my old LL Bean down comforter many times in a standard washer/dryer. I also had a cats as a pets, and not even their nails effected it's quality. LL Bean's manufacturing process and quality control today is BELOW TERRIBLE. I am very disappointed because LL Bean used to make high quality products. The comforter will soon be an empty pocket (since the feathers leak out). So, please do not empty your pockets buying this down comforter. You will be disappointed, frustrated and covered in feathers. I would give ZERO stars if I could.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Careful ordering I ordered the “baffle” box stitch, goose down comforter, warmer in 2024 for one kid and she loves it, it is lovely, puffy, warm, and comfortable! Missed the “baffle” part and accidentally purchased this box stitch goose down comforter, warmer for the matching bed for my toddler that just got her big girl bed- noted it was much flatter and thought it was a quality change (it wasn’t, this one has less fill) she slept in it two nights and was freezing, and I came to look at the product numbers and see they’re different. Regardless, this is not worth the money- it’s a $400 mistake. Spare yourself the same and go straight to the “baffle” this comforter is flat and cold and a few ounces less filling makes a big difference.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 10 year review My husband added this to our wedding registry 10 years ago. It has always leaked feathers, but I’ve accepted that as possibly normal. Unfortunately the corners started to open up so down was really coming out in a couple spots. We tried to patch these areas with not much success. We gave mostly used a duvet cover but not always. Last week, I pulled the blanket up to my chin, and had the weight of our dog to wrestle with, and the one of the squares ripped a foot wide, down was everywhere (extremely dangerous), my 5 yo was also in the bed so I removed her from the room, and it was a very stressful, messy mess. My husband bagged the blanket and feels LL Bean would want to know. Will take suggestions on what to do with blanket remains.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely Disappointed! I wish we had returned this comforter right away. It is noisy, and it sheds feathers like crazy. I changed the cover again to wash it and spent plenty of time vacuuming our hardwood floors and bed. I don't understand. We've had other down comforters from L.L. Bean. I know we waited too long, but I am contacting customer service to discuss the item. I suggest steering away from this item. L.L. Bean's quality has diminished.
