Flannel Sheets great - works as a light blanket
I have purchased these LL Bean flannel sheets many times. The quality is great and the sheets are soft and comfortable. They launder well. Great for the cold weather.

The perpetually shrinking sheet made of sandpaper
Another recent purchase from LL Bean, another disappointment. I seriously can't believe how far this company's standards have fallen in such a short period of time. I recently bought a fitted and flat sheet. The first wash and first week sleeping in them was great. They were soft, lustrous, and they fit my bed perfectly. Fast forward 6 or so weeks with weekly washing on cold and low dry and both sheets have slowly lost a few inches in length and width. Every week they get a little smaller. The fitted sheet gets harder and harder to put on my mattress and as of today is 4 inches too short. I have to pull it so hard to reach the end of my bed that I am scared I will tear it. Both the fitted and flat sheets have been pilling like crazy. What was briefly like sleeping on a heavenly cloud is now like sleeping in a gravel pit. All of my recent orders from LL Bean have been devastatingly disappointing. I don't know if I feel worse for myself that knows the quality level for which this company was renowned for decades, or for the newer customers that will never know what they missed and think the brand evangelists are crazy for recommending this company. I hope the new CEO's tenure is shorter than my sheets. He is ruining this once great business one product at a time.
