Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmest Winter Jacket This is my favorite jacket. It is so warm, great looking and well made. There are plenty of pockets. I thought it was a bit pricey but the quality is worth it. I know this coat will last a long time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Less Functional I bought this after buying my husband the men's version for Christmas last year. He loved it so much I thought I'd splurge for myself. I wanted something warm and sturdy for letting my bird dogs run and doing my horse chores. It's lovely, but it's not functional. I like the reinforced sleeves, and it is warm. But, the zipper at the bottom is already coming apart after only a month. Because unless you are planning to stand around in this coat, the extra length (great for keeping you warm) doesn't allow you to walk, much less bend, squat, run etc, without stressing the zipper. On the men's version, the zipper doesn't come completely to the bottom hem, allowing for movement. If I want to squat down, I have to hike the thing up like a skirt. Also, the button tab to close the collar is a nice thought, but the collar is triangular, so that when the top ends come together, there's a gap that allows the wind through. But the zipper thing is really the worst. I've had it less than a month and I'll have to repair the thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love for Upstate NY I wanted a jacket for dog walks, outdoor chores, all outdoor activities where I might sweat/ it might snow/rain/slush. I wanted it to not tear or rip at the slightest activity and I wanted pockets I could easily put my hands in and out of - basically I wanted my Barbour jacket but for winter and I didn’t like the Barbour options. This jacket is a dream. Perhaps the red buffalo plaid is a bit intense for the neighborhood walks, but I am warm and dry and comfortable and I love the red in the woods. I could probably have done an XS in this, I’m 5’3” bust 33” and usually wear a XS in most ll bean (I wear XS in the gauze button ups, fisherman sweaters) but they didn’t have that here. The Small is a good fit - it’s still roomy but it looks good, I’m not swimming in it and plenty of room for sweaters. Great pockets on this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Women’s Maine Guide Wool Parka This is a wonderful garment. Putting it on is like receiving a warm hug. Comfortable, attractive, fits well, warm, and not too heavy. A bit pricey, but should last, and therefore, worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great winter woods coat. I love my Bean hunting jacket. It’s warm and has the right number of pockets. The game pocket is terrific; holds one hare or four partridge.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love..but huge arms Great jacket in so many ways ut the upper arms were huge and I don't have skinny arms at all. I wished it came in petite but I'm sure the arms would have still been wide. I read a few reviews that said the arms were too tight but that was from very old reviews- maybe it's being made differently now. I didn't purchase this on sale so not sure if it's worth paying to have altered. For those who have complained that it's boxy... I think it's obviously boxy by the photo. I'm fine with that...Love everything else about the coat besides the wide and long arms.
