Our classic casual coat is easy to move in and layer under. With little touches like inverted pleats and buttoned patch pockets it's no surprise this coat continues to be a customer favorite, year after year. Inspired by our iconic Field Coat (originally named Maine Duck Hunting Coat), first introduced in 1924.

Nice coat
I bought the coat two months ago have worn it quite a lot. Have gotten many compliments on it wears well and it’s a canvas material nice but not scratchy the only trouble I have is with the buttons

Gorgeous Barn Jacy
I love my barn jacket. I haven’t had the opportunity yet to wear it yet because I live in Florida and our weather is changing but I will have it for a lifetime. It’s gorgeous and the quality did not disappoint. If you’re hesitant treat yourself. It does run a tad larger but that means you have room to wear a sweater.

Classic and Trendy Barn Jacket
I chose this barn jacket for its classic simplicity and because it’s also on trend. The light brown color is great for spring as well as fall. I ordered a petite small which is my usual size however, it’s a bit more roomy than I expected. If I had had the opportunity to try on in store I would have liked to try a petite extra small. On the other hand, the slight extra roominess does allow for me to wear a slim thermal vest or heavy sweater which allows me to get more wear out of it. I’ve been a customer of LL Bean for decades so this jacket will probably get better with age as I have experienced with other clothing from here. For reference, I’m 5’3 and 120 lbs.

Wears Like Iron
This is the third barn coat I have bought from LL Bean. I wore until the material started fraying from wear. I love this lavender color. I have been waiting for LLBean to come out with a more feminine color. You can’t beat the quality of this coat. It is washable and wears like iron. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a lightweight coat for those days when the temperatures are in the 30’s or 40’s.
