First introduced in 1952, our Maine-made lounger boot is back by popular demand. These easy-on boots are a heritage-lover's dream, blending classic Bean Boot style with pull-on construction for effortless wearing and pairing.
Whoever says, "they don't build things like they used to," doesn't own a pair of Bean Boots. When 90 of his first 100 pairs of boots sold were returned, our founder, L.L., sent out refunds and fixed the problem. We've followed in his footsteps, listening to customers and making improvements while staying true to everything that makes Bean Boots legendary. Kudos to Bean for bringing back the 9” Lounger. You could say I am a fan of classic Bean boots (see picture below). I bought my first pair around 1976 (third from left) and most of these boots have been re-soled once or twice using the Bean service and many inner soles replaced. The star of the show in my opinion are the loungers (center) and I wear these multiple times a week now doing yard work, snow blowing, tractor operating, shooting clays, etc. They fit me perfectly and the slip in feature is good for a 78 year old 6’5” geezer who finds lacing boots is getting tougher as years go by. The taller boots have been on many hunting and fishing trips from NJ to California. They are non-slip on wet decks in rolling seas and wading shallow water when necessary hunting pheasants. Tip - a heavy application of Sno-Seal soaked into the leather and stitching with a warm hair dryer once a year will make these boots waterproof and supple. Maybe you will have a pair some day that is still in great shape 50 years from now.
