I purchased these pants as the same size as all of my pants purchased from LL Bean, these were really big and long, it will cost me as much as I paid for these pants to have them shortened

Voluminous Baggy Pants!
I have been a loyal customer of L.L.Bean for decades, especially the Perfect Fit line. Unfortunately, the Perfect Fit Pants, Wide Straight-Leg are not a good substitute for the recently discontinued Perfect Fit Pants, Bootcut.
Unlike the bootcut version — which was trim through the thigh before subtly flaring — these trendy wide-leg pants begin widening at the hips. The result is a much fuller, looser silhouette from top to bottom.
To be sure it wasn’t just perception, I compared a new, unwashed pair of the discontinued bootcut pants to these new wide-leg pants. The fabric and overall quality remain excellent and consistent with what I’ve always appreciated from L.L.Bean. However, the cut is significantly different. The wide-leg style has:
An additional 4" of width in the leg, starting at the hip and continuing all the way down. A lower crotch, creating a baggier look through the top and an extra 1" in leg length.
This profile lacks the flattering shape and balanced proportion that made the bootcut so dependable and slimming. On my 5'9" frame, the extra volume through the hips and thighs is simply not flattering. I don’t need my midsection and upper legs to appear wider than they already are.
For reference, I’ve worn the Perfect Fit Bootcut pants since they were first introduced. I’ve also tried other Perfect Fit styles, but none serve as a true replacement — they tend to have a higher waist, lower crotch, or excess fabric that changes the clean, streamlined look the bootcut provided.
It’s disappointing to lose a wardrobe staple after so many years. I now find myself searching for another source of quality, truly “perfect fit” pants after decades of relying on L.L.Bean. I sincerely hope they consider bringing the bootcut style back.

Not perfect fit anymore !!
I have been wearing LLBean perfect fit bootcut pants for many years. Since the bootcut style is no longer available I ordered these. I am a petite large and these are definitely not a petite. The crotch and the length of the legs are much too long ! I measured them flat on a table with a pair of the original perfect fit pants and this new style is not cut for a petite. Unfortunately I am returning them as they aren't a perfect fit anymore for me. I hope LLBean goes back to the original fit of the perfect fit pants.
