Inspired by an original - ours. Our Field Coat was first introduced in 1924 as the Maine Duck Hunting Coat. It was an immediate favorite - loved for its rugged look and quality craftsmanship. Plus, it coordinated perfectly with our Maine Duck Hunting Boots (now known as "Bean Boots"). The legacy continues with this stylish lighter version. We love timeless fall classics, but a timeless and seasonless classic is even better.

Go-to black jacket for casual wear ...
I really like the look of this jacket in black. I am 5' 9" and weigh 220; the 2X felt "fitted" on me, whereas the 3X is roomier (preferred). The corduroy accents and pockets are nice. Were I to make improvements, I would add taffeta lining in the arms and use sturdy snaps instead of the metal buttons, which seem fussy. All in all, however, this jacket is well made and washed up nicely in cold (dried on delicate for ten minutes). I expect to get some decent wear out of it for some time to come!

Reminds me of a red barn coat from the early 90’s!
I just received the gorgeous blue this week!!!! I splurged and bought the long and short jackets! I bought a small petite in the long barn coat and it fits perfectly! I bought a medium petite in the shorter version! I Love both of them! I am 5’2” and weigh 150!
