Comfortable but narrow and long in the forefoot
I was looking for a waterproof hiking shoe for a trip later this year but all of the regular hiking shoes felt too "clunky". I tried on the Elevation train shoe and liked it. It was comfortable out of the box. The only problem is that I do agree with other reviews that the shoe tends to be narrow and long in the forefoot. I bought a 7-1/2 wide. My usual size in other brands is 7 wide. I have a pair of Saucony running shoes that fit great. I walk in these every day and they never pinch. I put the Elevation shoes next to the Saucony's and my goodness, they are so long! They are almost an inch longer and look HUGE next to the Saucony's. I'm not sure why manufacturers can't seem to make proper fitting shoes anymore. These are supposed to be Wide but fit like a Regular. I'm keeping them because they are comfortable but it's more of an aesthetic issue. Also the shoelaces are made of a silky type fabric and they won't stay tied unless you double knot them. I had to retie the laces four times when I was walking. The old cotton laces never came apart. I wish manufacturers would stop upgrading everything and leave well enough alone and just give us cotton laces. Some shoes even have bungee cords now, which I refuse to buy.
These shoes are nice but they are basically glorified sneakers and I'm not sure they're rugged enough for my hiking trip. I guess they're a higher price point due to the waterproofing.
I am rating the size as "A little small" because of the width not the length. The length is actually a little big.

Too narrow in forefoot
I am extremely disappointed in LLB shoes. The forefoots are so narrow it is like LLB does not understand the anatomy of a foot. These are well made comfortable shoes, EXCEPT the forefoot and how narrow they are. I do NOT have wide feet and measure a B in width. I usually wear a size 9, but they were too long. The 8.5 length gave me the correct room in the toe area. I have yet to find a pair of LLB shoes which work out for me due to their instance on have a straight forefoot.
