Straps make unusable
Backpack seems well made and practical, but the straps are so rigid and hard that my tween-aged son does not want to use it. With nothing in the bag, the straps cut into your neck; with a laptop and books inside, the rigid nature of the straps still makes carrying it really uncomfortable compared to cheaper bookbags he has with padded, soft straps (and compared to what I remember about the straps of my own LL Bean Deluxe bookbags). Possibly the straps would break in over time, but he's so turned off by the uncomfortable straps that I don't think we'll get to that point.

Great bag at an even great price!
This bookbag went above expectations. I love the roomy compartments - I actually used this as my onboard and field bag for a recent study abroad trip to Costa Rica. It performed well, held up to damp and rainy conditions, and is of good quality. I like the flexibility in uses for the bag as well. Now that I'm back stateside, I'll use this as a bookbag for work.

Fine backpack
I like the overall distribution of the bag and the extra straps for support. I don’t like that the bag is very slouchy/lacks structure or that my water bottle is constantly falling out of the pocket.
