Pockets not secure enough for use on trails
The material is very nice, but the design is not appropriate for use as "trail pants," which they are billed as. The issue is that only one pocket is at all secure, the zippered one on the leg. The front pockets are too shallow and small items tend to fall out. At least one should have a zipper or they should be deeper. The rear pockets also have no method to secure them, which could easily be velcro or a zipper on one of them. I have older LL Bean trail pants that don't have these pocket issues, so my suggestion is for LL Bean to just go back to their older, better designs. Having said that, I had ordered several colors and kept most of them, since I do like the very lightweight material they're made from.

Very good lightweight pants
I bought a pair of these trail pants a couple years ago, and decided I wanted another. There were some style changes since my previous pair, including a trimmer fit, which I like. However, the pockets are shallower, and I really miss the longer pockets. I also don't care for the visible LL Bean tag on the opening of the side pocket, as the color contrast is too noticeable. But overall, these are good pants.
