Rare cotton button-down shirt; sleeves very short
I wanted a cotton button-down shirt, and they are rare. More common at Bean are "popover" tops, which I don't like because they tend to bulge out at the stomach and are not flattering. Most of the rest are not cotton. This one looked fine, except for sleeves, which I prefer a little longer. I saw that these sleeves looked cuffed in the picture, so I ordered it. Turns out, the cuffs are so finely sewed to the sleeves that I chopped them up a little trying to let them down to extend the sleeves. I will fix them enough to wear the shirt around the garden. I wish Bean would offer more cotton button-down shirts with elbow-length sleeves that could be buttoned up as cuffs if desired. That would be a perfect world.

Great Cool Shirt for Hot Weather
I am very happy with these shirts! I bought a larger size, which is huge but wonderful for the hot days ahead, and my regular size that looks better, but turns out I wish was an inch longer. I have not washed one yet, so I hope that works out well. But I love the fabric and the style for hot weather. Easy breezy!

sleeve width needed to be altered
There is a lot about this shirt that I really liked -- fabric, fit, etc. However, the sleeves are way too wide. I have taken them in about 2 1/2 inches and they look right at that width.

Did not like the shirt
The shirt was not as expected. It is much too large, and the sleeves are very odd - too big and do not hang correctly. I could not wear it, and returned it to the company.

Oversized look
LIKES: Boxy style and lightweight feel of the fabric, length and circumference measurement of the bottom of the garment, along with the muted color choices. DISLIKES: the circumference of the chest area measurement of the garment, which was larger than expected resulting in an overall ‘baggy/oversized look’.
