Best boot I’ve owned
Purchased mine in August of 2018, it’s now August of 2026. They’ve hiked hundreds of miles and upon retirement from hiking, been my almost daily outdoor work-boot (everything from cutting firewood and clearing brush to digging drainage and operating equipment). They are showing their age and not much tread left but they haven’t let me down yet. 10 outta 10!

Quality has evidently changed
Lots of these reviews mention boots that were purchased several years ago. The latest Crestas aren’t the same. The leather has some kind of plasticky coating that prevents it some accepting conditioner or waterproofing wax, and is extremely stiff and difficult to break in (even after 30 miles!). The fit is simultaneously narrow in the toe box and wide in the mid foot, so they’re difficult to properly cinch down to prevent heel slippage. They’re also quite heavy, my 12s are over 4 pounds for the pair. Lastly, such a stiff boot would benefit from better tow protection. The toes in my boots have collected several deep gouges from just a few short (albeit rocky) hikes.

Absolute best boot for my foot and outdoor use.
I bought my first pair of these boots 6 years ago. I hike and snow shoe in these boots at least 50 days per year. The sole is almost worn smooth, but probably has another 6 - 12 months left on it. These are the only boots I know of that are actually wide (EE). Other boots say they are wide, but they are not. My feet are 4E in width. Also, the last couple of winters I have needed to use SnowSeal on the leather to maintain the waterproof protection. If you have wide feet, these boots will not let you down. I have done a lot of shopping for boots at big name stores and none, NONE, of their boots even come close to fitting my foot. I blew out the sides of my "wide" Keens in less than a year.
